Building Construction Technology Expo (BCT Expo) 2024 recently concluded, featuring 150 exhibiting companies and brands from 16 countries, with over 3,879 industry visitors from 35 countries. Themed ‘The Construction Meeting Place’, the event returned to the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand from 18 to 20 September.

\n\n

This year’s BCT Expo presented a comprehensive range of machinery, equipment, tools, technologies, materials and solutions across 10 clusters – ranging from earthmoving and demolition, lifting and handling, road construction, concrete and cement, materials, tools and equipment, digital construction, AI & robotics, construction services to smart facility management.

\n\n

Prior to the start of the event, a special ‘International – Thai Construction Networking Cruise Night’ along the Chao Phraya River was arranged to provide a river cruise networking experience, drawing participants from both Thailand and abroad.

\n\n

Apart from the exhibition, BCT Expo 2024 also organised a series of conferences, where over 30 industry experts from various international and local organisations shared their insights on emerging trends, technologies and sustainability. Some of these conference topics included AI & Robotics, Future of Construction Equipment, Green Construction Transition, Drones Applications, BIM, and Smart Facility Management.

\n\n

Another key highlight of BCT Expo 2024 was its ‘business-matching programme’, which saw over 520 pre-arranged business meetings between pre-qualified hosted buyers and exhibitors. This programme allowed the exhibitors to pre-schedule one-to-one meetings with their targeted key buyers.

\n\n

BCT Expo aims to facilitate growth for the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry, not just in Thailand but also in the Southeast Asian region. The event provides a dynamic face-to-face platform for suppliers, trade visitors and buyers to network, exchange views, update on latest trends, and forge new business deals and opportunities.

\n\n

Andrea Bertelli, area manager of Poggi SpA from Italy, said, “We supply silos for construction and reclaiming system for water treatment. We are pleased with the new business connections that we made during BCT Expo. The business matching programme was well organised and we are indeed satisfied with the overall arrangements of BCT Expo.”

\n\n

Kannapak Taweeyos, business development manager of Channakorn Engineering Co Ltd, added, “We are into designing and construction of warehouses and factory buildings. This year marks our third year of participation at BCT Expo and the numbers and quality of attendees that we meet during the event make it a worthwhile marketing investment for us to continue to join BCT Expo.”

\n\n

The next edition of BCT Expo is scheduled to be held from 3 to 5 September 2025 at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The next edition of Building Construction Technology Expo (BCT Expo) – Thailand’s annual international exhibition for the construction industry – is scheduled to take place on 18-20 September 2024 at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok.

\n\n

Themed ‘The Construction Industry Meeting Place’, BCT Expo 2024 will occupy more than 5,000 sq m of exhibition space, gathering construction industry professionals from Thailand and Southeast Asia region. It is expected to attract over 4,000 attendees.

\n\n

The event will also see over 150 international and local exhibitors across 10 construction clusters, ranging from earthmoving and demolition, lifting and handling, road construction, concrete and cement, materials, tools and equipment, digital construction, AI & robotics, construction services to smart facility management.

\n\n

“Thailand’s construction market is valued at 1.37 billion THB or 7.6% of the country’s GDP in 2023. The market expects to grow at an annual rate of 3% to 4%, driven by public infrastructure projects. There are currently some 108,000 construction companies registered in Thailand, of which 709 companies have the resources to undertake large-scale projects,” shared the organiser.

\n\n

“The industry is also facing headwinds and challenges, which include rising costs, labour shortages, tight timelines, hazardous working conditions, strict health and safety protocols, and the need to hasten the adoption of technology to improve productivity while at the same time meeting expected net zero emission targets.”

\n\n

It is against this backdrop that BCT Expo 2024 is organised to act as a bridge for the Thai and regional Southeast Asian construction industry to seek international collaborations and networking, bringing together marketplace, ideas, solutions, innovations and partnerships for its architecture, construction and engineering sectors.

\n\n

This year’s event will feature a series of conferences and seminars conducted by various international and local industry partners, such as Asia Pacific Assistive Robotics Association, Southeast Asia Construction magazine, Federation of Thai Industries, Iron & Steel Institute of Thailand, Drone Association of Thailand, Technology Media, and PCS Security and Facility Services Limited, to name just a few.

\n\n

The conferences will discuss a variety of construction related topics, including robotics and AI; smart construction equipment and technology; designs, iron and steel trends; drones in construction; BIM trends; and smart facility management.

\n\n

As in previous editions, one of BCT Expo’s main highlights is its business-matching programme. This aims to benefit the exhibitors by providing more than 300 pre-arranged business meetings with key hosted buyers during the event.
